Catchin' Crawdads!

A few weeks ago we went up to Strawberry Reservoir with our cousins to fish for crawdads. We had a great time being with family and catching buckets full of crawdads. We bought a crawdad trap to help with our efforts, but it wasn't a huge success. Of the 150-200 crawdads that were caught that day only 1 was caught in the trap. The crawdads were easy to catch by just walking along the shore and picking them up with our hands or scooping them up in a net. After the fishing was through we had a crawdad BOIL with corn on the cob and potatoes. Some ate a lot of crawdads, some ate a few and some didn't eat any. We had a great time and plan to go again.

Hey batter, batter!

We are sad that baseball season has come to an end. We had a great time watching Zach play this year. It was his first year playing "kid pitch." During the season he practiced hard and became a really good pitcher. His last game he pitched 9 strike outs in 12 batters. Way to go Zach! I didn't get any pictures of him pitching, but here's one of him batting.

And stealing 2nd!

Last day of school!

Last Friday was the last day of school! Both Zach and Ryan had their awards presentations at the same time so Jason went to Zach's and I went to Ryan's. Zach received a gold medal reading award and the highest number of reading minutes in his class. Ryan received a bronze medal reading award and the "Paws for Success" award. We are proud of both Ryan and Zach in their accomplishments in school this year. I can't believe next year Ryan will be in 2nd grade and Zach will be in 3rd grade!

Eating like dogs

The other day our cousin Ethan came over to play and eat lunch. Ethan and Owen decided to pretend to be doggies. They were so messy but so cute eating like dogs. They were even growling and barking and gave themselves the doggie name Rufus. That was the only name they could come up with, so they were both Rufus.
