I've wanted to start a blog but didn't think that any current events at our house were blog worthy, until last Saturday. On the way to buy vegetable plants for our garden (at IFA), Jason suggested that we buy some ducks. Yes, ducks. I thought he was joking around but the kids were excited about the idea. Zach asked if we could get a Mallard and said "now we'll have a pet." (Our kids have been pet deprived.) The first thing we did when we got there was to see if they even had ducks...and they did! To make a long story short, we are now the proud owners of 3 very cute baby ducklings. They kids helped us name them: Pato, Superfly and Striper. Right now they are in a box in the garage under a heat lamp until they get their feathers, which will be in about 6 weeks. After that they are free to roam the backyard.

Our kids are also pet-deprived. We had a guinea pig for 6 months before we moved, and had to give it away. The kids were heart broken. The little ducklings are totally cute...are they easy to look after? You guys are so funny. Oh, you should make a little pond in your back yard too! Rebecca
